The Salon is a community of photographers dedicated to growing their practices. Members meet online weekly for ten weeks each season in a supportive environment to discuss the creative process, photography-related texts, artistic and cultural references, and to share work for constructive feedback. Diverse in their backgrounds and creative inquiries, they share an ethos of artistic integrity, discipline, and intellectual vigor. All members are my former students at the International Center of Photography in New York City.

I founded The Salon in my Long Island City studio in 2015 in response to a need for a rich meeting place for committed photographers at any stage in their practice. In 2021, I relaunched The Salon virtually and welcomed artists in different parts of the country to join. We celebrated our journey with an exhibition at Foley Gallery in New York City and a book, Welcome to The Salon, published by Tonal Editions, in September 2023.

Now entering its tenth year, The Salon has grown to over 20 members in the US and abroad. See their work below.
